Out of the thousands of academic, technical and business presentations delivered each day, only a tiny percentage is delivered well—and this is not unexpected. Few people have actually had any formal training in the art of public speaking. To get outstanding results in this highly competitive business environment of today, your public speaking and presentation skills must be competent, compelling and influential. Will it not be nice for you to develop your skills in this particular area? LiveSpeech training can help you do just that! What You Learn— The benefits are far reaching. Whether you are presenting complex information on behalf of your organisation or business, delivering a keynote address, presenting to investors/prospects, speaking at a convention, defending a thesis before professors and Faculty, or delivering a valedictory speech; LiveSpeech training will equip you with the skills you need to get your acts together and make the most of any speaking engagement. In brief, you will learn how to:—
• Prepare yourself adequately ahead of a presentation; • Organise your content making it clear, relevant and memorable; • Engage and establish rapport with your audience; and • Build confidence and overcome your fear of public speaking. Training Options— There are three LiveSpeech Training Programmes available for you to choose from. These are:
• Open Workshop • Corporate Training • Private Coaching You could either join the monthly Open Workshop, which is open to the general public; or book a private, 1-on-1 Coaching if you desire maximum personal attention to your needs. For companies, organisations and other corporate bodies, an In-House Training option is available for your representatives, members and staff. This could be hosted at your office premises or at any suitable venue you provide. Mode of Training— You will be part of a class of only 10—15 participants (varies with chosen programme). The core concept of LiveSpeech is about experiential learning—learning by doing. You get the opportunity to practice and get critical evaluation under the supervision of the facilitator.
First. We will begin with an interactive seminar focused on helping you to understand some fundamental concepts. The four basic elements of public speaking and presentation namely: Planning, Organisation, Delivery, and Anxiety Management [PODAM]; will be examined. This is important as it will provide us with the theoretical framework to which the remaining of the training will refer.
Second. Because the best learning takes place when you are actively involved in the learning process; grasping the basic elements of public speaking will require practice. You will carry out various exercises as along the way that are designed to help you try out what you are learning. You will also stand up and present to the group. These test-presentations will be video-taped. Finally. After your test-presentation delivery, your presentation will be reviewed on video-playback, critiqued, and evaluated by the class (your audience) under the supervision of the facilitator. This helps to gauge your strengths, your weaknesses, and to discover the areas where you need to work on. This process is repeated again and again allowing you to make changes to your content, style and delivery as we progress. Seating Arrangement: The class will seat in a round-table format. This serves to focus participants on themselves, foster cohesion, and facilitate class interactivity.
In summary, the programme shall involve:
• Interactive seminars • Group exercises • Individual practice drills • Audio-visual feedback & review • Group discussions & evaluation
After the Training— At the end of the training, you should see a significant improvement in your ability to independently develop and deliver a successful presentation! As well as other useful materials to take home and study, you will get a personal performance assessment report that explains what you need to do to further improve on what you have learnt. A Certificate of Completion will also be given to you at the end of the programme.
As a bonus, you will get 2 to 4 weeks FREE support after the programme. This involves consultations on any speaking engagement that you might have during that period.
